Prince Harry could be visiting the UK without Meghan Markle and their children in a major U-turn. The Sussexes were set to make their first trip to Britain as a family in four years next month but there is now doubt over whether Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will make the journey from California.

It has been revealed that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) has turned down requests for security from Harry. It comes after a Risk Management Board was being convened to discuss the Duke of Sussex’s security after he lost his automatic, 24 hour, taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK. The RAVEC has now determined that no security will be provided which has thrown the arrival of Meghan and the children into doubt.

As reported by The Sun, the news comes just 24 hours after it was confirmed Harry would bring his family to the UK for the trip scheduled from Tuesday, July 7 until Saturday, July 11. He is set to attend events in Birmingham celebrating the “One Year to Go” countdown for the 2027 Invictus Games, as well as for the UK-based charities that he supports, including WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

On the latest development, a source said: “Harry is reassessing things. Ultimately, he is going to do everything he can to find a way to bring them over safely.”

It was previously revealed how Harry hoped to take his children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, to meet King Charles. He has also been planning to take them to Althorp, in Northants, to visit the final resting place of Princess Diana.

Earlier today, the Daily Express reported how Harry agreed to one crucial rule ahead of the visit. A source close to the prince revealed how he agreed that the family will meet in private, with no cameras or subsequent Instagram posts afterwards.

The source added that the visit is part of Harry’s plan to heal his relationship with the Royal Family. He is believed to be desperate not to strain their relations any further.

The Sussexes have been reluctant to visit the UK as a family since Harry’s 24-hour security protection was removed in 2020. It came after he stepped back from his duties as a senior royal working royal.
