I just have to brag about my husband for a moment, because today he reminded me yet again why I admire him so much. ❤️
When I got home from work this afternoon, there was a little surprise waiting for me right at our door — a neatly folded $20 bill and a short, sweet note. At first, I stood there a bit puzzled, holding it in my hand. My first thought was, “Wow, what a thoughtful gesture! But… from who?”
I couldn’t think of anyone who might have left it. There was no name, no explanation. Just the money and the note.
So I snapped a quick photo and sent it to my husband, Dalton Juneau, around 6 p.m., asking if he knew anything about it. His reply came a few minutes later, and as I read it, my heart swelled.
He told me that earlier that morning, while he was getting ready for work, there had been an unexpected knock at our front door. Standing there was a young girl from just a couple of doors down — someone we had never spoken to before. She looked anxious and a little out of breath. She explained that she had missed the bus and had no other way to get to school.
Dalton didn’t hesitate. He told her to give him a moment, quickly threw on his work clothes, and grabbed his keys. In just a few minutes, he was driving her to school, making sure she got there safely before heading off to his own shift.
She must have left the $20 as a thank-you. It wasn’t necessary — Dalton would have done it for anyone — but it spoke volumes about how much that ride meant to her.
And the thing is, this isn’t a rare moment for him. It’s just one of the countless small acts of kindness he does without fanfare or recognition. As an officer, helping people isn’t just part of his job description — it’s part of who he is. It’s his passion. His purpose.
It’s easy for moments like this to go unnoticed in the busyness of life. But I notice. I see the man who quietly makes someone else’s day better, who offers help before anyone even has to ask, who treats every person with kindness and respect.
Dalton, you are my hero. You are selfless in a way that inspires me every day, and I’m so proud to call you my husband. I love you — and I’ll keep bragging about you for as long as I live. ❤️
