A Stranger’s Kindness: A Story of Unexpected Generosity.

Last night, my son Jordan came into my room with a story that left me speechless. He had been at Walmart with my granddaughter when his car battery died. Unable to afford a new one due to a $400 insurance bill due that day, he was stuck.

Returning to the store, he bought jumper cables and asked a man in a white truck for help. The man suggested he needed a new battery, but Jordan explained his financial situation. The man then asked if he was a single parent, and Jordan replied that my granddaughter’s mother was at work. The man directed him to the auto department, but upon arrival, he suggested they go to AutoZone instead.

At AutoZone, the man spoke with someone inside and then returned to Jordan’s car, saying someone would be out shortly. He shook Jordan’s hand and drove off. A few minutes later, an employee came out with a brand-new battery and installed it in Jordan’s car.

Jordan was in tears, overwhelmed by the kindness of a stranger. He said, “I didn’t even know the man’s name.”

To the gentleman in the white truck in North Augusta who helped my son and granddaughter, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity has restored our faith in humanity.
