A Ride to Remember: Granting a Blind Woman’s Bucket List Wish.

Today, while out riding motorcycles with a group of friends, something unexpected and beautiful happened that I just have to share.

We stopped at a Go Mart parking lot, when a woman approached us. She looked nervous but hopeful, and asked if one of us might give her a ride around the parking lot—for $20. She explained that riding a motorcycle was on her bucket list, and she wanted to send a picture to her son of herself on a bike.

Without hesitation, I told her that one of us would take her for a ride. I invited her to come with me over to the motorcycles. That’s when she revealed something that took me by surprise—she was blind. She explained she would need help walking over to the bikes.

She gently took my arm, and I guided her carefully across the lot. I told her that if she could manage to get on, she could ride on the back of my bike. I also made it clear she didn’t need to pay me anything for the ride, but she insisted on giving me the $20. Twice I asked if she was sure, and twice she said yes—“Just keep it,” she told me with a warm smile.

While riding with friends at the Go Mart in Clay, WV, I met a lady who asked if someone could give her a quick ride on a motorcycle—for $20—because it was on

I started backing my bike up, and my friends stepped in to help her get on safely. We made sure she knew how to hold on. The excitement on her face, even without sight, was unmistakable.

Before we took off, I asked if she wanted to let her friend know where she was, just in case. She laughed and said, “No, she’ll see us!” And right on cue, her friend walked out of the gas station just as she yelled, “Quick, get the camera!”

As we rode slowly around the parking lot, she let out a joyful “Woohoo!” that filled the air with pure happiness. When we returned, she couldn’t stop smiling. That moment—the sheer joy of crossing something off her bucket list—lit up her face and my heart.

It wasn’t just her day we changed. That ride made my day too. Sometimes, the smallest moments bring the biggest smiles.
